Teaching and Training

Migration Summer School, MPC, Florenc

In teaching I have been committed to provide an inclusive teaching and supervision environment. Having taught in different institutional contexts, including at a UK Russell Group University and at Vienna University with a highly diverse student body, I am sensitive to the multiplicity of challenges students negotiate inside and outside the classroom and am experienced in how to support and mentor students both in terms of their academic learning and their personal growth. You can find an overview of my current (and past) courses at the University of Vienna here. I am mostly teaching in the areas of Austrian politics and EU politics modules.

I also have relevant experience in the field of Executive Education, and exchange with non-academic stakeholders. I have for instance designed, marketed and implemented the Training ‘Effective Migration Communication: Approaches to Depolarize the Debate’, one of the most successful Executive Trainings for the School of Transnational Governance at the EUI.

I have been also responsible for the Robert Schuman’s Centre annual Migration Summer School which is geared towards bringing together academics and practitioners. I have developed trainings for North-African policy makers on migration governance in cooperation with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development.

I thoroughly enjoy exchange with practitioners and the non-academic world, and aim to make research accessible in formats that are useful for a wider public, such as trainings. During my time at Sheffield University I also developed a theatre production with a BBC screenplay-writer based on my research. The play was shown at the Social Science Festival in Sheffield.

Below a list of courses and trainings I have taught and conducted so far.
